Be Aware and Protect Yourself

Even though the following occurred near here, I'm sending it along to everyone ---- It could happen anywhere, and knowing about it could save someone.  Maggie

This happened right off Old Springsville Road. Please be careful during the Holidays.
This happened to Lisa who I work with. Judy

Friday evening coming home from shopping, I was involved in either a Hit & Run or a failed car jacking attempt. I had stopped at a red light close to my house. The person in the car behind me stopped too but then rammed into the back
of me. It was dark, I was alone, there were not many cars around, and the back seat was full of bags. I pulled off the road, kept my doors locked and windows rolled up. The person in the car walked to the passenger window and asked me to
get out of the car to check the damage. I told him no I would wait for the police. He then jumped back in his car and spun off.

It all happened so fast I could not get the tag number, nor could I make out the car other that it was a small maroon compact car. I did get a good look at the person. He was a clean cut mid 30's Caucasian male. The Sheriff's Department asked that I spread the word, without a tag number there is nothing they can do except write up an accident/incident report for insurance purposes. This is happening a lot all over town and the perpetrators are getting away so fast that victims are not able to get the tag numbers.

Hopefully you will not find yourself in this situation, but if you do, stay in your car. Never unlock the doors, and do not roll down the window. Call 911 before you speak to any one and try to get the tag number if possible. I'm very lucky.....I only have to replace a bumper. Please be careful and always pay attention to your surroundings, especially if you are alone.  Lisa
